Smart Phone and Funeral

Yesterday I saw my friend's new smart phone and asked her how she liked it. Apparently it prompted my dream. (I don't have a smart phone.)

In my dream, I had a smart phone. I don't remember what it was being used for, but it was there, and it was good and fun and exciting and whatever smart phones are supposed to be.

It was also my uncle's funeral in my dream. And of course in the dream it was nothing like it was in real life. In the dream it was in a two story chapel. And before it a bunch of my cousins and I were meeting up at the temple.

Not a bad dream, just unexpected. (But are any dreams really expected? Besides the ones I have all the time? (like Burn Notice, Disneyland, etc.))

Power Rangers

I haven't watched Power Rangers in years. Yet I have some vague memories of what it was like. Each Power Ranger had a different color, no one knew their identities, they fought with martial arts, and they had a secret base where they could take off their helmets but not the rest of their uniforms.

In my dream, their secret base was at a house or hotel that was at the top of a hill. It had an outside pool, and no fence. How could this be their base? Anyone could walk up the hill to the pool and find them. Inside, there was a big dinning room table, and one of the Rangers had written a bunch of notes on sticky notes and stuck them all under the table.

In my dream the Power Rangers also had crystals that gave them their powers. (This may or may not have been part of the show, I don't remember.) They could wear their crystals when they weren't in their suits and still have their powers. And they could teleport. (Also may or may not have been part of the show.) The Pink Ranger's parents were going to vacation in Hawaii, so all of the Power Rangers were going to go too. They were just going to teleport over. The Pink Ranger crafted her crystal into a belly button jewel so it could be seen when she was on the beach wearing a bikini.

First Amendment Superpowers

I had a dream where the First Amendment gave people superpowers. Not that they were able to think and speak freely and clearly and be understood. Superpowers like telekinesis, flying, and changing the molecular structure of things. And someone was going to use these powers for evil. Several of my law professors who could use these powers were gathering together to see if good could overcome evil.

And it may have been at an amusement park. (Haven't had one of those dreams in a while, they used to happen all the time.)

Trial Competition Preparedness

This week I have a trial competition at law school. Last night Nick was helping me work on my opening statement and one of my witness direct examinations. So then I dreamed that Nick is my partner in the competition, and I panicked because we haven't worked on his closing statement yet. Grateful to wake up and realize my real partner is more prepared than my dream.

Multiple Burn Notice Dreams

I've had a few Burn Notice dreams this past week. (What else?)

In one dream, Michael Westen had his arm around me, and kissed me on the forehead. Yet it didn't feel like he was cheating on Fi or I was cheating on Nick, it was more of a brother-sister relationship. Michael and Fi were hiding from whoever was chasing them. They were in a thrift store getting clothes to disguise themselves. The chasers showed up, so Mike and Fi sneaked out the back door and drove away with both seats reclined so no one could see who was driving. Then they were in an abandoned house, and there were two Michaels. He was being tortured, but I'm not sure why or by who.

In another dream, Fi was being blackmailed (hm, sounds familiar, like the current season or something) by a gang that worked out of a funeral home (not familiar). My youngest brother was also in the dream. Besides that I don't remember too many details.

Non-narrative Dreams

I'm not going to try and tell a story about the dreams I've had the past few nights. They wouldn't make any sense. And they'd probably be disturbing. I'm just going to list elements that were in them. That alone will probably be disturbing enough.

  • I was engaged, and a friend was going to drive me and my fiance to the airport to go get married. I hadn't packed anything.
  • My family was helping build a temple. The outer walls of the temple were glass windows, and the outer rooms had lots of comfortable couches in them. The inner rooms were the ordinance rooms.
  • My youngest brother was still a baby.
  • I didn't have my shoes with me when I was leaving the temple, so I couldn't leave, because my feet would get dirty and I wouldn't be able to come back in.
  • I was about to get married, and kept going back and forth from the dressing room to the chapel where everyone was waiting. No husband ever in sight.
  • There were ghosts everywhere. And not just regular ghosts. Ghosts that had been axe murderers. Still carrying the axes. No one was too horrified.
  • My youngest brother was now a toddler, and he died. I don't know how, but he was glowing which meant he was a spirit now. And so I had him fly up so he would be in heaven. No one really mourned his death.
  • My mother and another woman had several miscarriages in the winter because it was too cold and their bodies couldn't keep the baby inside. No blood and mess though, just a cracked chicken egg that would fall out of them. My mom didn't mourn this either.
So much of this list disturbs me. Like why did no one care about the axe murdering ghosts? And why was no one, especially my mom, sad about the death of my brother or the miscarriages? And why did the miscarriages look like chicken eggs? And why was I dreaming about any of this in the first place?

Married Couple Roommates

The house I currently live in is split up into several different apartments. We have a nice big kitchen, and a great room that is divided into our living room and bedroom. This was the setting of my dream:

I came home to find another newlywed couple moving into my apartment. We were going to share it. All of my living room furniture was moved so they could set up their bed. It now looked like a hotel room. I was so mad. There are several other apartments in the house they could have moved into! (Not really, the house is full.) If we were going to share an apartment, couldn't we at least get one with two bedrooms? Yeah it would be more money but if we're splitting the cost with another couple it would still be cheaper than what we are paying now. Still a pretty terrible idea though.
